Our Team

We are a small architecture practice passionate about the processes of design and construction and bring together architectural expertise gained in a wide variety of building sectors.

Building projects are however a collaborative process and we are fortunate to have a wide circle of professional colleagues in allied disciplines and contractors to call on as required:

David Appleton

David is the practice director and studied architecture at The Bartlett, UCL and the University of Cambridge.

Qualifying as an architect in 1998, he has considerable design studio and site experience. Having worked on prestigious retail, restaurant and theatre projects, he now focuses primarily on residential work. He is very hands-on at Appleton Weiner and is involved in all projects from start to finish.

He has taught architecture at the University of Cambridge and has been a visiting critic at the University of Portsmouth, London Metropolitan University and The Bartlett, UCL. David has been a mentor for final year students at Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design.

He has completed the SPAB 'Repair of Old Buildings' course and the RIBA 'Advanced Conservation Course'.  He is a 'Conservation Registrant' on the RIBA Conservation Register.

When away from the office, he enjoys attempting to improve as a rower with the LEA Rowing Club in east London, cycling and walking Percy (see below).
